whats a-goin' on here?.
i've never seen so many uk posters climbing aboard the 'postasy express.
is there a general tightening up occuring?
Even us very rare posters are still here shouting for good old Britannia. Any one know exactly how many British posters here?
I too think it very strange that this being a UK based site has more US posters than Brits1
Ho Hum
Yes indeed Englishman BT at their finest 56(very slow)k down an old analogue phone line for £14.99. No NTL yet in Northampton...
Cheers

hello friends,.
in a thread over at witnesses.net entitled "society bracing for law suits" fellow jw's are taking swipes at ray franz.
not too long ago, while i was still under the wt spell i also would have similarily spoken abusively of ray.
May I just add my personal thanks to Ray. I read COC last year and it truly devastated me. Even having been out for a decade I still harboured the doubts of "What if they're right and Armaggeddon comes!"
After reading Ray's experiences I realised the Watchtower is just another cultish religion with a huge stranglehold over its members. I have just this week finished ISOCF and again truly stunned at some of the revelations at how the Watchtower conducts itself and the continious flip-flopping of doctrine.
But I think what impressed me most about Ray's accounts is his lack of rancour towards his fellow Witnesses especially at high level within the organisation. To be thrown out on the Street at nearly 60 with no material resources, slandered and ultimately set up for DF'ing would have given him cause more than anyone else to feel bitter after a lifetimes service. But no, he still has a love of fellow man based on TRUE Christian principles which most Witnesses would be hard pressed to emulate. SHAME ON YOU WATCHTOWER for treating this caring human being in such a callous manner!
From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU RAY.

Couldn't agree with you more Francoise.
That f***ing cult can go take a jump. I openly despise them and don't care who knows it.

which is better in your estimation?
hit the borg with a d.a.
letter or do the slow fade.
Hi all,
My wife and I did the slow fade in early '91. Well I should say quick fade.
Took us about 2 months to totally wind down to zero participation and only 2 shepherding calls were forthcoming. We basically told them: Don't call us we'll call you when we're ready to come back.
My parents shun us anyway and their 3 grandchildren. Contact is very limited to family business only. Sometimes I wish I did go out with a bang but it's too late now.
Never regretted leaving though. NEVER.
Take care

there are some really weird and interesting names on this site.
just out of interest, lets swap details of how we selected our chosen "stage name", it could be fun!.
i chose "englishman" when i first started to lurk at h20.
Way before the X Files was giving us a series with no answers we Brits were doing it 30 odd years ago.
"The Prisoner" a TV show originally broadcast 1967/68 told the story of a British Secret Agent who suddenly resigned without warning and for no reason. He was promptly kidnapped and taken to "The Village" Who ran "The Village and where it was located was never disclosed but conflicting hints are given as to where it is. The 17 episodes set out to break our agent known only as "number 6" by the top man "Number 2".
The two questions asked every week were to No 6 "Why did you resign?" and of No 2 "Who is number 1?". If you've never seen the series before I thoughrougly recommend it, and the final episode "Fall Out" where all is revealed??? is probably the most bizarre and surreal 54 minutes of television you will ever watch.
Why did I chose my moniker as Number 6? I first saw the programme at the very impressionable age of 14 in 1984 and as well as being the most mad TV programme I ever watched, it also started the streak of rebellion in me as my step-father initially forbade me to watch it thinking it somehow was the wrong influence. So I took the attitude that if it annoyed him then I was going to damn well watch it!
Also because I identify with the characters' struggle to be an individual against the pressure of "The Village" to conform. Also the fact that it raises more questions than it answers. I believe strongly in our absolute right to hold our opinions in the face opposition and that no organisation has the right to mould us to think what it wants us to think. (i.e. The Watchtower Society)
i used to post initially here as Mr Angry this being a reflection of how I usually feel when I read the heartrending tales of the trauma people suffer at the hands of the Watchtower organisation. At that time I was also a bit scared of being identified by others in the Borg who might know me. So my re-invention as Number 6 also brought down the barriers. I use my real name on my unblocked email and if those who once called me a friend and those family who are still in the Borg somehow identify my posting here and cut me off; the loss is theirs. I have been out a decade and wasted many of those years being scared of what the power the dubs have over me. My mind is my own.
In the words of Number 6: " I am not a number, I am a free man."
Be seeing you.

as some of you may know london bethel is very close .
to buying new land to house a new complex (45 acre site).
it is not often that ibsa has kept a secret this long before.. any info appreciated.
Looking at the HM Land Registry Website, the average sales for properties in London NW7 vary between £175,386 for a basic flat to £371,066 for a detached house. For those who have visited the sleepy North London Suburb of Mill Hill will remeber the quiet residential area the Bethel Complex lies in. So you can imagine what end of the scale properties lie in for that area. This is prime commuter territory at the end of the Northerrn Line with about a 30 minute ride into Central London, also immediately adjacent to the M1 at London Gateway (Scratchwood Services) at Juntion 2, and 10 mins walk from Mill Hill Broadway mainline station on the Midland Mainline. So this area is a property developers dream. If the current UK property market is anything to go by the Watchtower will make a FORTUNE on this site, £100's of millions at the very least.
Compare this to property prices in Milton Keynes (Bletchley) area postcode MK5. The MAXIMUM price here last quarter for a property sale was £168,985; with the MAXIMUM property price near Toyota Derby DE73 (closest postcode I could get for house sales, correction anyone?) is £116,704.
So after setting up shop in the Midlands the Watchtower still stand to show a very handsome profit. The transport, centralisation and other factors strike me as very incidental.
Of course the real reason is for distributing the much needed spiritual food to the bretheren. NOT.

there will be one about what your favourite color is later... .
i thought the "generation that saw 1914" was sacrosanct in the witness world. Even thought I didnt hear about it until I was out 10 years in 2000 it still gobsmacked me.
I always thought that whatever new light the organisation came up with this was untouchable.
The nail in the coffin for me I'm afraid
